Laminate kitchen worktops can be prone to chipping. However in some cases we can provide a two part resin that can cover up chips and scratches. Where the damage is too extensive we can sometimes cut a section away and rejoin a new section providing a match can be found to the existing worktop.
Solid Timber And Wooden
Most solid timber kitchen worktops are damaged from lack of care. Simply wiping a timber block worktop with a well oiled lint free cloth every month or so would certainly help to prevent solid wood worktops getting damaged.
Water damage is often the guilty culprit around the sink or surface stains and burns. Stains and burns can be sanded out as long as they are not too deep. Water damage to timber worktops can also be sanded out if it is superficial. In other cases where the damage is too extensive sections can be removed and new timber sections rejoined.
We must add that in around 60% of cases it is simply more cost effective to replace the whole work surfaces.
